Bespoke/Remodelling Terms & Conditions
-
Each commissioned piece is handmade and bespoke. Once work has begun, any changes to the design will need to be discussed and may involve additional time or cost.
-
A 50% non refundable deposit is required to confirm the commission and cover design, materials, and initial work. The remaining balance is due once the piece is complete, before collection or delivery.
-
If the commission is cancelled after work has started, the deposit is non-refundable. If additional materials or work have already been carried out, further costs may apply.
-
If you’re providing your own stone or materials, I’ll take great care when working with them. However, I can’t be responsible for damage caused by existing flaws or natural characteristics of the material.
-
The estimated timeline is given as a guide. Occasionally, delays can occur due to suppliers or hallmarking, but I’ll always keep you updated if anything changes.
-
Where required, your piece will be hallmarked in line with UK regulations. Hallmarking costs are included unless otherwise stated.
-
You’ll be able to view the finished piece once it’s complete. Small adjustments may be possible, but any major changes may incur additional costs.
-
As each piece is made especially for you, returns or refunds aren’t available once the commission is complete (except where required by law).
-
Once collected or delivered, the piece becomes your responsibility. Care advice will be provided to help keep your jewellery looking its best.
-
By approving your proposal and paying the deposit, you’re confirming your agreement with the design, timeline, and terms above.

Workshops begin promptly at the scheduled start time, so please ensure you arrive on time and ready to begin. This helps the session run smoothly and ensures you don’t miss any important information.
If you know you will be delayed, please email me at hello@rachaelplassard.com as soon as possible to let me know your expected arrival time so I can make any necessary arrangements.
Please be aware that arriving late may mean you miss essential health and safety briefings and demonstrations which are required to participate safely. For this reason, late arrivals may not be able to join the workshop once it has started, and in these cases, refunds or transfers unfortunately cannot be offered.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping to create a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.
-
Workshops take place in a working studio environment where we will be using various tools, equipment, and materials that have the potential to cause injury if not handled correctly.
By booking and attending a workshop, you acknowledge and accept that you are responsible for your own health and safety throughout the session.
Comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided at the start of your workshop, including clear instructions on the safe use of all tools and equipment. You will also be supplied with any necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
For your safety and the safety of others, it is essential that you:
Pay close attention to all demonstrations and instructions
Follow the guidance provided at all times
Use PPE as directed
Exercise care and caution while working
If you have any questions or concerns about safety procedures or equipment use at any point, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.
By participating in the workshop, you agree to observe these precautions and accept full responsibility for your own wellbeing during the session.
-
For your comfort and safety, please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dusty or marked, as jewellery making can be a messy process.
To help prevent accidents and keep you safe while working:
Avoid loose-fitting sleeves, scarves, or any dangling jewellery, as these can easily catch on tools or equipment.
Closed-toe shoes are required—please do not wear sandals or open footwear.
Long hair must be tied back securely.
While every care will be taken to protect your personal belongings, the studio is a busy workspace. For this reason, I strongly recommend leaving valuables at home, as I cannot accept responsibility for any lost or damaged items.
If you have any questions about what to bring or wear, please feel free to email me in advance at hello@rachaelplassard.com.
-
Please be aware that this workshop is designed for adults and young people aged 16 and over. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for children under 16, and participants must be at least 16 years old to attend.

If you have any accessibility requirements or specific needs that would help you participate comfortably, please get in touch before your workshop to discuss how I can best support you.
