Jewellery Workshops
Welcome to my jewellery workshops, held in my seaside studio in the historic and inspiring Old Portsmouth. These sessions are an opportunity to slow down, tap into your creativity, and experience the satisfaction of making something truly your own.
You’ll learn traditional jewellery-making techniques such as soldering, sawing, filing, and polishing. More importantly, you’ll gain confidence, patience, and a sense of achievement that comes with creating by hand.
Each workshop is limited to just 4 people, creating a calm and friendly environment with plenty of personalised, one-to-one guidance in a relaxed social setting.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, you’ll find the workshops welcoming and supportive. You’ll be able to work at your own pace, with as much help as you need—no question is too small. My aim is to offer you an inspiring and rewarding experience.
If you’ve ever doubted your creativity, these sessions will help you rediscover it. Come and enjoy the joy of making, and leave with a beautiful piece of jewellery that’s all your own.

Workshops take place in a working studio environment where we will be using various tools, equipment, and materials that have the potential to cause injury if not handled correctly.
By booking and attending a workshop, you acknowledge and accept that you are responsible for your own health and safety throughout the session.
Comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided at the start of your workshop, including clear instructions on the safe use of all tools and equipment. You will also be supplied with any necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
For your safety and the safety of others, it is essential that you:
Pay close attention to all demonstrations and instructions
Follow the guidance provided at all times
Use PPE as directed
Exercise care and caution while working
If you have any questions or concerns about safety procedures or equipment use at any point, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.
By participating in the workshop, you agree to observe these precautions and accept full responsibility for your own wellbeing during the session.

If you have any accessibility requirements or specific needs that would help you participate comfortably, please get in touch before your workshop to discuss how I can best support you.
My studio is a small, working space, which means there may be some limitations regarding access and available facilities. However, I am committed to making my workshops as inclusive and welcoming as possible and will do my very best to accommodate your needs wherever I can.
To discuss your requirements, you are very welcome to contact me at hello@rachaelplassard.com. -
Workshops begin promptly at the scheduled start time, so please ensure you arrive on time and ready to begin. This helps the session run smoothly and ensures you don’t miss any important information.
If you know you will be delayed, please email me at hello@rachaelplassard.com as soon as possible to let me know your expected arrival time so I can make any necessary arrangements.
Please be aware that arriving late may mean you miss essential health and safety briefings and demonstrations which are required to participate safely. For this reason, late arrivals may not be able to join the workshop once it has started, and in these cases, refunds or transfers unfortunately cannot be offered.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping to create a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.

For your comfort and safety, please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dusty or marked, as jewellery making can be a messy process.
To help prevent accidents and keep you safe while working:
Avoid loose-fitting sleeves, scarves, or any dangling jewellery, as these can easily catch on tools or equipment.
Closed-toe shoes are required—please do not wear sandals or open footwear.
Long hair must be tied back securely.
While every care will be taken to protect your personal belongings, the studio is a busy workspace. For this reason, I strongly recommend leaving valuables at home, as I cannot accept responsibility for any lost or damaged items.
If you have any questions about what to bring or wear, please feel free to email me in advance at hello@rachaelplassard.com.
